A comforting one-pan meal that combines tender gnocchi with savory ground beef, tomatoes, and seasonings for a hearty dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package (16 oz) gnocchi
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until it’s fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  2. Sauté aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
  3. Create the sauce: Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing the flavors to meld together for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cook the gnocchi: Add the gnocchi to the skillet and cook according to package instructions, typically about 2-3 minutes, until the gnocchi float to the surface of the sauce.
  5. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Feel free to swap the ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based alternatives. Use fresh tomatoes when in season for added flavor.
