Create a fun and festive atmosphere with these easy Halloween Party Appetizers that combine vibrant flavors and eye-catching presentations.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • Herbs and spices (garlic powder, onion powder, paprika)
  • Crushed nuts or herbs (chopped pecans or parsley)
  • 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Spices (cayenne pepper, salt, garlic powder)
  • 1 cup black olives
  • Assorted cheeses (sharp, mild, and creamy)
  • Crackers (water crackers or whole grain)
  • Assorted fresh vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, celery)
  • Dip of choice (ranch or hummus)
  • 4 large eggs
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cream Cheese Balls: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese with your chosen herbs and spices. Once well-blended, form the mixture into small pumpkin-shaped balls. Roll each ball in crushed nuts or herbs to coat them fully, giving them a festive appearance.
  2. Roast Spiced Pumpkin Seeds: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the pumpkin seeds with olive oil and your chosen seasonings. Spread the seeds evenly on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway to ensure they cook evenly.
  3. Create Black Olive Spiders: Using whole black olives, slice each one in half. Place one half as the body and cut additional halves into thin strips to create eight legs. Attach these strips to the body to create fun spider shapes.
  4. Arrange Cheese and Crackers: On a large platter, arrange an assortment of cheeses and crackers. Add sliced fruits like apples or grapes for color and extra flavor. It should look appealing and inviting.
  5. Create a Vegetable Platter: Lay out a mix of fresh vegetables on another platter. Include colorful options like bell peppers, carrots, and cucumber slices. Serve with your dip of choice in the center for an easy grab-and-go option.
  6. Prepare Deviled Eggs: Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in a pot covered with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let them sit for about 10-12 minutes. Once cooled, peel and cut the eggs in half. Mix the yolks with mayonnaise and mustard, then spoon the mixture back into the egg whites. Top with a slice of olive to create the appearance of a spider.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing. Ensure seeds are in a single layer for even roasting.
